The Corporate Strategy Intern will play an integral role in the success of the group. Specifically, s/he will be responsible for:
• Support the corporate strategy execution and ad hoc projects for executives, corporate requests, and special events
• Deliver data-driven insights to support actionable strategic direction, corporate prioritization, and communication
• Perform primary and secondary market research to generate strategic intelligence and insights
• Build market and competitive intelligence reports, dashboards, and tracking structures
• Produce and present PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets that communicate/translate results derived into meaningful charts and insights that are easily understood and valued by internal audiences
Learning & Development:(This internship will provide a learning and development experience in the following areas)
• Understanding of the complex education technology industry and the business structures that exist within it
• Advancement of strategy and business planning skills
• The creation, development, and presentation of complex ideas and/or business plans
• The management of complex, strategic partnerships and clients
• The operations of various business functions and the interworking of the culture of Blackboard, a leading education technology company.
Professional Qualifications
This role requires one part strategic researcher, two parts business analyst and insights creator, and one part process champion. We’re looking for the right person to play a critical role in ensuring the Corporate and Industry Strategy team operates with the right information, processes, and efficiency to position the organization to most effectively meet its mission.
Required Skills:
• Pursuing a Master’s degree in a business, education, communication, or finance field
• Solid business understanding and willingness to learn quickly
• Demonstrated strength in research, analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, strong integrity, and proven ability to communicate with executives, both verbal and written forms
• The ability to juggle and prioritize simultaneous assignments. Must be flexible and proactive
• Proven ability to anticipate needs and provide viable solutions with minimal direction
• Ability to work independently, exercise discretion, and multi-task in a highly dynamic environment
Preferred Skills:
• Background in or knowledge of the education industry and related business structures, as well as with education related technologies
• Demonstrated understanding of project management needs within matrix organizations
• Ability to perform basic financial modeling and related industry analysis
• Experience developing and managing diverse partner relationships
• Experience collaborating on strategic vision and identifying/implementing specific initiatives to support it
• Advanced proficiency and ability to work/coordinate efforts across multiple disciplines such as product/program development, product management, project management, technology, sponsorship, and legal
