Position Summary:
The OEM Program Management position is responsible for managing and enhancing many of the processes that bring products and services from idea through to OEM production implementation and market launch. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to); cost management, program governance, process structures and efficiency optimizations, progress reporting, OEM interaction, ensuring cross functional engagement, quality gating etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Directs all phases of company programs from inception through Company production launch including strategic planning, program budgeting, process improvements, and standardization where suitable as well as synchronization between Company milestones and OEM / third party milestones.
• Plans, coordinates and has responsibility for all aspects of program governance, communication plans and forums, escalation procedures, program cost / budget management, etc.
• Actively applies and enhances Company's program governance tools and procedures, ensures appropriate quality gate content with clear and actionable deliverables by functional areas or external partner, reports in clear and easy to understand formats both internally and externally.
• Acts as the primary internal contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, quality and technical performance.
• Manages all facets of deliverables through the life cycle from a pre-RFx state, sourcing, onboarding, requirements and specification creation through the build, validation and launch phases of the program.
• Ensures the efficient and productive use of resources and conveys requirements to program members and leadership.
• Constantly challenges in a positive and constructive manor methodologies, procedures and ways of thinking to reach ever increasing targets of speed, quality and efficiency.
• Governs the program through the use of quality gates and report deliverable trajectories ahead of each gate with clear recovery / mitigation plans as needed.
• Adapts reporting formats and content to fit a wide variety of audiences from senior executives to working level teams both internally and OEM / partner facing.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Has the ability to build and maintain solid relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization. Strong social skills, team player attitude and networking abilities are a must.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience. Business and technical degree combinations are ideal.
• Documented experience in the field of automotive OEM's or other multi-national corporations is desired.
• Hands-on experience with quality gate type program governance structures is a strong plus.
• 10+ years of work experience in business, engineering and/or software development and/or program management of which 5 years in a leadership position.
• Experience with vehicle system integration, launch or program management in a global environment (multi-cultural exposure) is strongly recommended.
• Program management certification is a plus. All automotive space experiences are considered a plus.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Must be prepared to work in the demanding and constantly changing Automotive OEM industry, specific to product delivery with many diverse partners and vendors.
• The candidate is well articulated, organized and structured.
• Timely delivery with high quality and a strong sense of ownership is required.
• Proficiencies in multiple languages is a plus (French, German, Korean, Japanese or Chinese an extra plus).
• Skilled at compiling and conducting executive presentations and manage complex information flows and content. Ability to view the big picture while managing details.
• Budget / cost management background is preferred.
• Ability to travel internationally when required (avg. 2-3 times a year) as well as domestically as needed.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Advanced MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills are a strong plus.
