ROLE SUMMARY:
NBCUniversal is seeking a Senior Manager to join the Partnerships division of the Ad Sales Strategy group as part of a fast-paced and highly capable team providing strategic and tactical leadership and support to our advertising sales and media business. The Senior Manager will be focused primarily on NBCU’s partnership strategy with BuzzFeed.
NBCU Sales Strategy & Partnerships group is responsible for the design and execution of strategic sales initiatives at NBCU in partnership with the wider Ad Sales organization. They are the primary liaisons between the NBCU ad sales organization and its media partners, aligning teams and ensuring focus on growing overall sales revenue and consistency across the wider NBCU portfolio. Acting as strategic consultants to our sellers, this small, but dynamic team supports the needs of the sales org across a wide range of dimensions including product innovation, sales optimization, go-to-market strategies, budgeting and planning analyses, and market insights and sales team education.
Responsibilities:
• Identify areas of opportunity, growth and innovation between NBCU and its partners, primarily BuzzFeed
• Establish strategy to scale the NBCU-BuzzFeed Partnership across NBCU departments and support long term growth
• Play an active role in the analysis, planning and inclusion of BuzzFeed sales opportunities in the annual Upfront process
• Act as an ambassador to ad sales verticals to ensure all teams are aligned on priorities, value proposition and sales strategy
• Work intimately with cross functional areas of business (Planning/Marketing/Sales/Strategy/Research/Operations/Site) to ensure seamless execution of initiatives and smooth operation of processes
• Spearhead efforts to evaluate new ad products and market opportunities: perform analysis, manage pilot tests with BuzzFeed and brands, evaluate performance and make recommendations to management
• Lead education and training on new product/process initiatives to the sales teams
• Provide regular updates to Sales and Strategy management teams on health of the BuzzFeed sales partnership and areas for growth; ensure alignment across all levels
• Drive analysis and insights around both qualitative partner intelligence and quantitative metrics and trending
• Own all revenue and pacing reporting and executive updates
• Cultivate strong relationships within the BuzzFeed organization; infuse external learnings, best practices and areas of opportunities back into the NBCU org
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (MBA Preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in either strategy, finance, media, research, consulting, sales or a combination of the above
• Experience in media, advertising, and digital sales and solutions
• Experience in digital/social media; knowledge of or interest in BuzzFeed & NBCU properties
