Summary of role:
● Performance of activity to the highest standards. Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Ensuring maintenance of customer satisfaction on an ongoing basis.
Complexity of work managed: Reporting high £value costs using a variety of complex ERP/Accounting tools. Significant variance in activity that should standardise over time
Main activities/responsibilities:
● Complete the processing of all technical responsibilities (see below) in a timely, efficient and accurate manner
● Contribute to team effort and assist co-workers as needed to balance workloads
● Help to create a work atmosphere conducive to a high degree of integrity and teamwork
● Maintain customer satisfaction by promptly following up on customers’ requests for information.
● Ensure performance targets are met and service is delivered to end users as expected.
● Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement and innovative solutions and communicate these to the Team Leader.
● Take proactive involvement in determining and implementing best practices
Technical activities/responsibilities:
Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting and Reporting – Opex Bau
● Support development of strategic plan
● Prepare periodic budgets
● Prepare periodic financial forecasts (including detailed monthly rolling current-year forecasts at the same level of detail as the management accounts, including committed amounts)
● Perform variance analysis against performance targets
● Provide Finance Business Partners with insightful pre-close P&L report on WD3, flash on WD4, Rolling Forecast by WD7. Actual deadlines may be subject to change. Monthly calendar of activities to be maintained as agreed current view of deadlines and communicated to FD/VP stakeholders.
● Prepare monthly management reporting packs (including but not limited to analysis of payroll/external resource costs and FTE, analysis of individual vendor spend against plan, analysis of variances in A&D)
● Prepare ad-hoc analysis / production of reports as requested to support accurate reporting and support business decisions
● Prepare accruals / other adjustments (including review of month end postings for quality, identifying necessary material adjustments required and preparing necessary journal entries as required)
● Involvement in the extended roll out of the new ERP into US areas. This has already been concluded for UK region.
Expected results:
● Strong working relationship with the Finance Business Partnering team(s) supported
● Delivery of all work to agreed Service Level Agreements
● Process improvement over time including simplification and standardization
Qualifications
Part qualified accountant
Experience of working in a global matrix organisation preferred.
