Responsibilities
The Position
The Senior Vice President will lead television and digital advertising sales for E!, Esquire Network, and Fandango. He/She will be responsible for driving advertising and revenue performance and achieving short- and long-term revenue goals and strategic objectives for these highly visible brands.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Set budgets and sales goals for sales staff and within the framework of the division’s sales budget; work with VPs to develop and implement annual sales plans by brand and Account Executive in order to maximize revenue and profitability.
• Encourage collaborative approach to client relationships amongst sales teams and drive revenue, by working with ad sales leadership to create and implement a split partner system between the New York and regional offices
• Provide positive and effective leadership to sales teams. Recruit, develop, and coach sales talent in order to meet or exceed specific goals for profitable revenue growth. Effectively communicate the division’s vision and goals (both financial and qualitative) to the sales team and ensure that they understand and are motivated to achieve them.
• Encourage cohesive partnerships between the direct sales teams and other internal resources (Client Solutions, Network Partnerships, Planning, Inventory Management, Account Services and Sales Analytics).
• Work collaboratively with Network Partnerships and digital/television production and editorial teams to create innovative and salable ad products; drive integrated sales programs that focus on client needs and network priorities, to maximize leverage and variety of offerings across all platforms. Establish and maintain a culture of consultative selling at all levels.
• Develop and maintain solid relationships on behalf of NBCU with advertising and agency client partners. Participate in sales calls and presentations with major clients and/or when significant programs are presented as needed.
• Serve as Brand Leader on assigned brands and develop tools and messaging to all internal parties
• Serve as sales advocate for all linear and digital assets within the NBCU Portfolio. This includes working knowledge of all verticals- Lifestyle, Entertainment, Sports, News, Hispanic and Digital and be a lieutenant of the overall NBCU sales organization to community at large.
Qualifications/Requirements
The Person
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, results-driven, integrated sales leader with a track record of building meaningful revenues, an expansive network, and an ability to envision and execute on existing and new business opportunities. He/She will be highly influential leader in the marketing and advertising community known to drive cross-platform innovation.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience working in increasingly responsible advertising sales positions in a combination of broadcast/cable and digital environment; minimum of 10 years successfully leading advertising sales teams.
• Deep knowledge of integrated advertising models with a strong focus on mobile content and audience based sales strategies; strong technological savvy and solid comprehension of the ad tech marketplace
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external partners and constituencies to execute programs in a unified effort using best practices
• Consistent track record of achievement in increasing / maximizing sales revenue and profitability across multiple products and offerings
• Proven leader in building, managing, and retaining a highly-motivated and world-class consumer multiplatform sales force across multiple regional offices
• Broad and deep contacts in the advertising industry, and an in-depth knowledge of the current marketplace for linear and nonlinear advertising; impeccable reputation
• Exceptional influencing skills and preferred experience working across many areas and levels of an organization
• Analytical / strategic thinker, creative problem solver, resourceful, able to initiate change and motivate innovation and creativity
• Strong leader and persuasive communicator with a vision; proven ability to self-motivate, work independently as well as collaboratively and motivate and inspire a team; excellent writing and verbal presentation skills
• A Bachelors’ degree from an accredited and recognized institution of higher learning is required with an advanced degree ideal
