Description
The Tax Manager will report to the Tax Director, Global Provision and Compliance and be a member of a worldwide finance team that strives to be best-in-class.
We are seeking a team member who will be managing and preparing parts of the global tax provision and compliance at Autodesk, including working with others in the team to create/implement structure and processes.
A successful candidate will be expected to:
• Work independent on the global tax provision, in all areas including domestic, US international and foreign tax.
• Be able to guide team members in the execution of the tax provision and compliance work.
• Fluent in accounting for purposes of tax provision preparation
• Be familiar with and is able to identify tax provision and compliance implications of strategic tax projects between tax planning, income tax provision and income tax compliance
• Be able to prepare roadmaps for moving tax planning implementation into the income tax provision and compliance and by early-identifying issues and proposing solutions;
• Familiar with SOX tax controls and work with Internal Audit on tax controls;
• Understand and can work with calculation of uncertain tax position risks and assessments
• Drive continuous improvements to the process and methodologies used in the tax department;
• Support tax compliance
This role will require strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, continuous learning and outcome accountability.

The minimum requirements for this job are:
• 8-10 years of income tax experience
• CPA and/or JD
• Ability to self-direct.
• Creative thinking.
• Flexible mindset and willingness to embrace change.
• Detailed working knowledge of income tax provision and accounting requirements under US GAAP (ASC 740 and related guidance). Experience calculating and reporting under ASC 740.
• Desire to mentor and develop the team and the individuals on the team.
• Very strong people and project management skills.
Experience with the technology industry and a robust network of peers and advisors in the technology industry also strongly desired but will consider the right candidate from other industries. Big 4 or Law Firm experience a plus.
