A Lot About You
We are looking for candidates with strong analytical and software skills to join our team. Our Research Scientists are responsible for ensuring the state of the scientific art in existing products, and introducing major innovations that can result in a new product line or a new area of business.
Your day
Analyze data, identify problems and potential customers, devise solutions and build prototypes, conduct experiments.
Initiate and propose unique and promising modeling projects, develop new and innovative algorithms and technologies and pursue patents where appropriate.
Work closely with product and engineering teams to realize models and algorithms in production-ready systems.
Work with business teams to gain acceptance of proposed policies and designs.
Stay current on published state-of-the-art algorithms and competing technologies.
Maintain world-class academic credentials through publications, presentations, external collaborations and service to the research community.
You must have
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Economics or a related area. Economics majors should have a strong computational focus along with the ability to source and analyze real data.
Strong knowledge of data mining and machine learning.
Solid hands-on skills in sourcing, cleaning, manipulating, analyzing, visualizing and modeling of real data.
Excellent academic or industrial track record of proposing, conducting and reporting results of original research, plus collaborative research with publications.
Strong communication skills both written and oral. This role is expected to articulate and gain acceptance of proposals.
Strong coding skills in one of the following languages: C++, Java, Python.
Familiarity with data analysis languages such as R, Matlab or Python, preferably in a Linux/Unix environment is preferred.
Interest in online advertising, publishing, content generation, etc. is preferred.
