Description
Yahoo currently has a Product Manager position available at our office in Sunnyvale, CA.
DUTIES: Responsible for the definition and ongoing management of a product or family of products at all stages of the product lifecycle including defining a product concept and requirements. Works across the organization to develop the product through product launch and managing the ongoing operations of the product post launch. Directs, designs and implements a comprehensive product strategy with an understanding of the market, customer and competition. Manages trade-offs throughout the development process in conjunction with the development team. Works with product marketing to develop the optimal marketing plan within the context of the product strategy. Works closely with Development, QA, UED as well as other Yahoo! business units to coordinate efforts of product launch and product lifecycle.
Partner with engineers, architects, and executives on the creation of product vision, strategy, roadmap, and communications for mobile search products and platform technologies. Work closely with multiple properties within Yahoo! to build business cases and customer use cases for existing and new products. Effectively collaborate with product and technical teams to drive innovation and specify features, prioritize enhancements, and translate into requirements. Collaborate with global partnerships on partner strategy and pipeline. Work effectively with other functions, including marketing, analytics, design, finance, and legal. Participate in the concept, development, launch, and sustain phases of the product lifecycle. Navigate across organizations and external companies/global partnerships.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related technical field and 2 years of experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation.
Experience must include:
1. Building highly technical, Internet-scale products and systems
2. Experience launching new technology products or services, and building broad-based support for new ideas from concept phase to launch and beyond, working closely with technical teams to specify feature requirements, and prioritize product enhancements and triage product defects
3. Experience in real-time big data analytics platforms that offer distributed storage and distributed processing of very large data sets, including Hadoop
4. At least 2 years on-the-job experience in internet search related technologies
5. Understanding of web search and database concepts, architecture, and design, including data warehousing approaches, industry standards, and best practices
6. Experience in the entire product life cycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance, and development methodologies including Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
