The Training Specialist will be responsible for a variety of learning activities designed to promote user adoption of Skyword’s Content Marketing Platform, and the development of Skyword team members. Attention to detail, high standards for quality, a professional demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver them on-time is a must. We are looking for an experienced instructional designer with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the training and development field.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Training Delivery
• Present live and/or web-based workshops
• Delivers on demand learning modules for self-paced learning programs
• Manages all learning program logistics
• Responsible for content design, creation, delivery/implementation, and evaluation
Skyword Platform Content Creation and Updates
• Creates new Skyword Platform learning modules, including conducting any required research, writing scripts, and designing learning modules
• Responsible for working with other stakeholders, such as product management, product marketing, and other teams, to gather information needed and to verify accuracy of content
• Updates existing learning content to keep current with Skyword’s frequent product enhancements and changes
• Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the Skyword platform, and how our customers solve business challenges through Skyword
• Creates and maintains a project plan for updating and creating content
• Conveys product value while explaining functionality in order educate and train creative contributors, customers, and Skyword employees
Additional Learning Programs
• Collaborates with the Human Resources team in identifying, and building effective employee development solutions, as needed
Qualifications
• 3-5 years’ experience as a trainer/instructional designer working in a professional environment with an understanding of adult learning theory
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent
• Experience with software or technical training
• Self-starter with an ability to take on a project with minimal supervision
• Strong project planning and project management skills
• Ability to customize content for a variety of use cases and audiences
• Ability to share ideas and collaborate with people from across the organization
• Must be able to work independently with strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent PowerPoint design skills
• Previous experience with content authoring tools (e.g. Adobe Captivate, Camtasia)
• Previous experience with a learning management system (e.g. Cornerstone OnDemand)
• Possesses a can-do attitude, able to work collaboratively on a team, and be flexible in their approach
• Must be able to handle feedback and make content changes with a focus on producing the highest quality end product
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills
