Responsibilities
NBC Universal’s Global Media Operations team provides digital workflow tools and services to organizations throughout NBCUniversal including Universal Pictures Group, NBC News, NBC Sports, USA Network, SyFy, Bravo, Oxygen, Telemundo, Saturday Night Live, Late Night, The Tonight Show, and local TV stations. The wide range of services provided by Global Media Operations (GMO) team include centralized conditioning and delivery of critical NBCU film and television assets and distribution of on-demand content and live streaming events to the web and mobile devices. The GMO team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the tools for digital media playback, delivery, syndication, and processing; assisting with support of existing proprietary products, third party applications, media server infrastructure; and researching new tools and standards for our business. As a member of the GMO team, you will play an important role in growing the GMO Video Platform to a state-of-the-industry technology suite.
Essential Responsibilities
Deliver quality testing effectively and on time, achieving department and business goals
Write and execute test plans and test scripts to support manual testing of new development platforms
Effectively communicate the status of testing results, including risk assessment, both verbally and through documentation
Explore and document initial approaches working with new and emerging video platforms
Participate in scrums representing the needs of the QA team as a lead QA engineer for various projects
Assist other internal QA and development engineers testing multiple projects
Implement best practices and procedures for quality assurance
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
4+ years experience performing Quality Assurance tasks in a blended QA / Development / Product environment
Expertise in software Quality Assurance practices, including test script generation, client-side and server-side automation, load testing, and deployment management
Demonstrated experience with QA for high-traffic, high-availability applications.
Strong problem solving and debugging skills using web proxies, such as Charles/Fiddler.
Experience with digital video delivery to consumers over the internet
Good written and oral communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
Power user of defect tracking systems and test management systems. Experience in Jira and Zephyr highly preferred.
Excellent understanding of front-end web technologies (HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Ajax).
Experience with Android and IOS Applications and Set-Top Boxes (Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV).

Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Technology Management, or equivalent experience preferred
