Position Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of logistics for internal & on-site production activities, including the budget. Working closely with the Head of Production, and Production Management team you will ensure that all aspects of production are delivered on time and on budget. The position is based in our Feltham production office, and may require work outside of normal office hours, including weekends as well as occasional domestic or international travel.
Responsibilities:
• Managing day to day production logistics for some sports from beginning to end: planning and scheduling; booking crew, and communicating schedules or updates
• Production Management of programmes ensuring programmes are produced efficiently and on budget and adhere to compliance and H&S guidelines.
• Maintain clear lines of communication with all staff & freelancers ensuring that any potential issues are highlighted at the earliest opportunity
• Management of some production budgets and cost reporting to ensure that budgets are met.
• Manage post production work relating to any events you are directly managing. This will include budget reconciliations.
• To be aware of new technological innovations as they relate to production efficiency.
• Ensuring all post production follow-up: purchase orders are raised to ensure payment of fees; implementing changes or improvements; debrief with crew and on-site teams.
• Together with the Head of Production and Production Management team: upholding the company’s on-screen and editorial vision; acting as a main point of contact for specific event production related queries both internally and externally.
• Any other ad-hoc duties the company may reasonably require form time to time.
• Manage the Production Assistant and assist with the development of junior team members
Requirements:
• An articulate and clear communicator, you are able to demonstrable initiative and work without supervision.
• You have good literacy and numeracy skills, and previous experience working with budgets.
• Your excellent organization skills and interpersonal skills enable you to prioritize your workload with ease, and your flexible can-do attitude make you a willing team player.
• You can demonstrate a good eye for detail and are able to think on your feet to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
• You have previous Production Management experience working on live, preferably UK and international OB’s
• You have experience of booking satellite feeds & ISDNs
• Extensive knowledge of production paperwork, archive clearance, filming permits, contracts, insurance, risk assessments and Health and Safety
• Experience of dealing with UK broadcasters and/or external third parties.
