Job Summary

The Marketing Manager works closely with Clients Ad sales team and our Marketing Services team to develop and execute integrated and added value programs for the magazine’s advertisers. This position collaborates with editors and designers to develop comps, sell sheets, sales presentations, advertorials, product mocks and event collateral materials. The Marketing Manager develops research-based sales materials that align with overall client brand positioning and deliver on advertisers audience needs. The incumbent works with internal departments including creative, strategy, analytics, and client service as well as with external customers.

• Conceptualize and oversee execution of custom, integrated marketing initiatives that align advertiser brands with the power of WebMDs publishing titles
• Partner with Webmd sales team to develop and deliver strategic marketing solutions
• Track and analyze competitive publisher activity, marketplace trends and ad offerings; identify opportunities and threats
• Identify sales prospecting opportunities via audience insights, research and competitive tracking
• Contribute to proposal development, by delivering creative thinking, analyzing research to uncover the most compelling facts, and creating high-quality materials that illustrate the proposal and how it delivers against the brand’s objectives.
• Develop a strong relationship with the Client’s Publisher and VP of Marketing as well as become a trusted resource to their peer group within each of the disciplines
• Attend sales calls with Client publisher and sales team to assess needs and develop programs

• Lead ideation, and oversee strategic direction and management of updates to sales-marketing materials and collateral such as media kits, sell sheets and mocks

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum of three years related experience plus one year experience as a manager in the publishing or advertising field.
Must possess at least two years experience in creation and execution of marketing programs with a strong emphasis on pharma/health and Point of Care categories.
Proven track record of supporting ad sales teams with winning integrated marketing programs (ideation, development and execution).
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be a self-starter.
Ability to interpret data and create compelling stories for advertisers.
Must possess excellent interpersonal and follow-through skills.
Knowledge of media/magazine marketing.
Strong strategic thinking and resourcefulness required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Basic knowledge of interactive and social media.
Knowledge of syndicated research (MRI/SMRG, PIB, ABC) preferred.
