Overview:
Pearson is the leader in publishing for the higher education market. We have an excellent opportunity for a Product Specialist for our West Coast region.
This is a remote position that can be located within our West Coast region including in or near the following cities:
Salt Lake City, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego/Orange County, Phoenix, Denver
The successful candidate for the Product Specialist position will be responsible for the sales and marketing of content solutions (especially those driven by technology, as well as textbooks and supplements) to colleges and universities, working with local sales representatives in the assigned territories. This is a specialist position that focuses on the winning of large adoptions through giving presentations, coaching and strategizing with sales representatives, and building momentum and excitement for the products in the region. In addition, the Product Specialist also communicates closely with our marketing and editorial teams to create strategies, drive sales, and provide market feedback.
Qualifications
• A minimum of two years successful experience as a college publishing sales representative, and a quantifiable record of achievement.
• Ability to do 60% travel during the selling seasons.
• Aptitude to coach and train sales reps.
• Technological proficiency: working knowledge of the Web and basic software programs/applications
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Motivation: the drive to achieve beyond what is expected
• Academic excellence: strong academic performance and a 4-year degree
