The Blizzard Marketing team is looking for a digital media and advertising expert with strong leadership skills to head up our Performance Media team. This position will report to the director of media and analytics and work closely with various team members to execute cross platform media plans for various game content launches as well as new customer acquisition initiatives.
The day to day responsibilities will be to deliver successful end-to-end campaigns across Performance Media channels including: Programmatic Display / Mobile / Video, Paid Social, Mobile Install and Paid Search (SEM). This person will apply their skills to run and optimize media campaigns in partnership with core agencies.
Responsibilities
• Lead the team in the day-to-day management and optimization of media, ensuring the team delivers excellent performance across all channels, tied to performance goals / business objectives.
• Responsible for effectively managing campaign spend across biddable media platforms by implementing bid and budget changes including ownership and delivery of pacing documents to appropriate teams monthly as defined by business.
• Direct hands-on experience buying media in Adwords, Facebook Ad Manager (or a PMD), and self-service Programmatic Media platforms.
• Be the lead digital media buyer, supporting the performance media strategy and plans set forth by strategy / planning team.
• Ensure that campaigns are consistently well executed, following best practices.
• Regularly review and manage key marketing strategies with Google, Facebook, etc.
• Staying abreast of industry trends and competitive offerings in the marketplace, building advantageous relationships with media partners and technology suppliers as appropriate.
• Ensuring adherence to the performance media campaign implementation workflow process. Reviewing processes and offering suggestions on how to improve them.
• Generating and maintaining a culture in the team which maximizes team members’ performance and enables innovation and proactive work.
• Managing career development for team members, including induction, training, mentoring and conducting annual performance reviews.
• Conducting weekly team meetings and other team admin task.
• People Responsibilities:
• Oversight and direction of each channel manager when assigning tasks
• Oversee channel managers to ensure timely and accurate product or results delivery; provide input for channel manager performance reviews
• Train channel managers on optimization tactics and account budget pacing strategies
• Managing team workflow and reallocating / prioritizing work where necessary to fit capabilities of the team and ensuring high standards are maintained
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
• A minimum of 7 years’ digital media / advertising experience
• A minimum of 5 years’ management experience
• Excellent use of search / social / display campaign management technologies, i.e. Kenshoo, Marin, DoubleClick search, DoubleClick Bid Manager, AppNexus, Sizemk, Tune, etc.
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of analytics tools i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.
• Excellent time management and problem solving skills
• Able to manage numerous projects concurrently and consistently to deliver high-quality work to timescale (works well under pressure and to short deadlines)
• An organized individual with excellent mentoring skills
• Financial awareness and understanding
• Detail oriented and meticulous by nature
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Able to work in a team environment that promotes collaboration
• Capable of working successfully within a team as well as independently
• Team player able to build and maintain strong working relationships with management and peers
• Good self-esteem, confidence and strength of character – able to be assertive without being aggressive
• Advanced understanding of the internet market and its current role in media consumption
