The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.
The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems. The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.
The Bell Mobility Wireless, IT team is looking for a talented Business Systems Analysts to lead the delivery of IT solutions on behalf of the Bell Mobility business. The successful candidate will work for and alongside a Project Manager, and will partner with other IT teams such as Planning, Architecture, Infrastructure, etc. as well as external vendors such as CGI, Amdocs and IBM. Job duties and accountabilities:
• The Business System Analyst, working under the direction of the Project Manager, is responsible for gathering and documenting the business requirements and then ensuring that the deliverables produced by the development effort conform to the business requirements.
• Beyond the facilitation of the up-front business requirements and system requirements gathering sessions and resulting documentation, the role also involves driving the user acceptance testing process, including preparation of acceptance criteria, review of the test plans and scenarios, review of test results as well as taking responsibility for end to end testing. In some cases the Business Systems Analyst also executes test cases and directly ensures system integrity.
• The Business System Analyst is also involved in reviewing key development and design deliverables, including interface specifications, integration requirements, data schemas, and design documentation, as well as the business’s implementation and conversion strategies and plans.
• Contributing to the project planning and administration.
• Act as liaison for cross-functional team, including vendor partners.
• Partner with Enterprise Architects and TAs to work on projects’ conceptual/architectural solutions.
• Partner with the Project Manager in delivering highly successful projects, joint activities include:
• Organize customer and internal team meetings to identify and validate business and system requirements.
• Lead vendor partners (such as AMDOCS and CGI) through the application development project phase.
• Ability to identify and quantify risks relevant to business and systems requirements, delivery timelines/quality, budget constraints, etc
• Coordinate and communicate various aspects of projects; including producing status reports, meeting minutes, issue logs, and informing cross-functional teams of decisions and progress.
• Schedule and mediate team meetings, follow up on issues, obtain sign-off from project stakeholders on completion of documented deliverables.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
• A Bachelor degree in an area such as IT, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications.
• Minimum 5 years in a Business Analysis (Systems) role.
• Related work experience is essential and should include experience in process modeling as well as experience with multi-tiered application development, infrastructure and networking concepts and practices
• Related experience as a Senior Programmer/Designer or Systems Analyst.
• Significant experience leading multi-disciplinary JAD sessions.
• Significant experience dealing with multiple vendors in the creation of end to end solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Leadership experience defining requirements and solutions related to financial processes and concepts such as and mediation, charging, settlement, reconciliation.
• Absolute ability to see the business problem and business solution in the eyes of the customer.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio)
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
• Familiarity with Wireless Telecommunications, Internet of Things and Machine to Machine Technologies would be an asset.
• Familiarity with billing, charging and/or customer care applications is preferred.
• Familiarity with call centre technologies, both custom and off the shelf is preferred.
• Familiarity with Wireless ordering and supply chain tools/processes is preferred.
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
