Responsibilities
Partner with Sports HQ operational leadership teams to compile, analyze and report budgets, estimates, and actual financial data; prepare variance analyses and research root cause to determine resolution
Manage timely and accurate financial reporting process for month/quarter close, rolling forecast, annual budget, and long-range plan through maintaining financial models and tools; reporting includes operating expenses and capital expenditures
Communicate regularly with finance leaders within Sports Group business units to monitor performance metrics and synthesize trends
Analyze Sports Group financial submissions to understand variances, identify risks & opportunities and to summarize performance
Manage month/quarter close processes for Sports Group, including preparation / review of allocation calculations and journal entries for various Sports Group business units
Partner with Sports Group management to ensure proper accounting treatment for various Sports Group business transactions
Manage preparation of monthly/quarterly financial reporting package presented to executive management; manage preparation / review of relevant underlying supporting documentation
Ensure timely preparation and submission of various quarterly Sports HQ financial data requests to Corporate Financial Reporting
Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for Sports HQ general ledger accounts and maintain proper documentation to ensure compliance with SOX requirements
Work closely with Corporate Controllership and FP&A teams to complete tax, audit and Corporate requirements
Liaise with internal and external audit teams to assure timely completion of all audit requests and management action plans; work with Sports Group management to implement control enhancements consistently across all Sports business units
Work closely with Corporate and Sports Group Finance teams to identify enhancements in financial monitoring and reporting tools and processes, and to develop/implement relevant solutions
Play a key role in managing and executing projects to improve/enhance NBCUniversal and Sports Group processes
Coach and mentor junior staff members within Sports Group HQ team
Perform other duties and participate in ad hoc projects, as necessary
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Finance and Accounting
Additional Qualifications
Experience with general ledger
Proficient with MS Windows environment and Advanced MS Excel skills

Desired Characteristics
CPA strongly preferred
Knowledge and working experience using SAP, or similar accounting software
Must be accurate, detail-oriented and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills required
Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
