General Description
Seeking a new opportunity? Ubisoft Chengdu studio is currently seeking a fulltime Junior\Intermediate concept artist willing to challenge their creativity on one of our soon to be announced projects.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating concept artwork for our many in-house projects. They should be capable in a broad range of styles, from cartoon to realistic. The individual will be working closely with the art director in order to help develop and establish the art style and artistic level of quality necessary for our projects.
Requirements
• Graduated with a University degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
◦ Or, have 1-2 years equivalent work experience.
• Good knowledge in Photoshop, Corel painter or equivalent software.
• Good understanding of anatomy, color, shape, scale
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to be a team player, flexible and open minded.
• Must be responsible, proactive, accountable, and personable.
• Commitment to team development and sharing best practices.
• Able to quickly adapt to changing situations and take on new challenges.
• Good organizational and analytical skills and able to solve problems.
• Passion for creating and playing games, regardless of platform or genre.
Pluses
• Oral and written English abilities
• General knowledge of texture creation, 3DSmax, game engines
Job Responsibilities
• Strong concept skills in:
◦ Creating art for team inspiration, references, loading screens, matte paintings and marketing.
◦ Quick environmental studies, color studies and screen paint-overs.
◦ Creativity in character costume designs and architectural structures.
◦ Strong understanding of anatomy pertaining to humans and animals.
◦ Vehicles, weapons and other inorganic designs.
• Strong imagination and an ability to gather references, in order to help generate the most suitable ideas.
• Ability to envision the art director’s spoken and written ideas and turn them into visual images
• Can recognize the art direction of the project and adapt to a variety of art styles
• Cooperate with other artists to assist in the art creation process
