Marketing Executive Director, TV Distribution

General Summary
Sony Pictures Television (SPT) (http://www.sonypicturestelevision.com), a Sony Pictures Entertainment company, is one of the television industry’s leading content providers, producing and distributing programming in every genre around the world and for a multitude of platforms.
Based in London, supporting the UK and Ireland region, the Marketing Executive Directorwill work closely with the VP Marketing and UK Sales head to develop and implement marketing strategies in support of sales priorities for territories. They will provide all necessary territory insights and analyses, program information and sales materials to maximize the effectiveness of the Marketing and Sales executive serving the region. They will also work with clients to support all marketing initiatives, whilst building and maintaining positive marketing relationships with all clients in region.
Core responsibilities will include:
• Working with the VP Marketing to develop and prioritize pre and post-sales marketing objectives, maintaining a thorough knowledge of UK Sales objectives and targets as the driving force for marketing activities and identify and coordinate cross-divisional marketing opportunities.
• Working with SPT clients to provide the Marketing support to secure the best possible exposure of SPT product along with maintaining strong relationships with all clients
• With direction from the VP Marketing, help execute marketing campaigns on behalf of programs (including on-air and off-air, print, scheduling stunts, sponsorships, social media campaigns and sweepstakes) for all client broadcasters and on-demand platforms to ensure they provide high-impact exposure for programs while adhering to brand management and legal guidelines. Ensure clients are kept updated with the latest assets, relevant product information for series and feature films and general correspondence
• Leverage idea sharing and partnerships and in conjunction with EMEA Marketing Managers, Culver City Marketing team and other International Marketing teams, brainstorm ideation and activities that can be scaled for worldwide pre-sales purposes
• Liaise and collaborate with UK Sales to implement marketing and promotional strategies and tactical actions that boost product sales and awareness and enhance client relationships
• Oversee approval of marketing materials submitted by both traditional and digital clients for use in channel and platform led campaigns
• Primary point person and key liaise to head office for EMEA client creative needs approvals and guidelines (i.e. client campaigns, trademarks, sponsorships) to maintain quality and consistency of marketing materials
• Oversee servicing of materials across all channels and platforms, ensuring that client requests are fulfilled in a timely manner while continually looking for greater efficiencies in how those materials are serviced
• Manage the preparation and fulfillment of materials for Sales events (i.e Mipcom, Local Screenings)
• Will influence a budget spend of approx. £500k per annum
To be considered for this role,successful candidates must have and/or demonstrate:
Experience:
• Typically 8-15 years’ experience working in Marketing in a business to business or consumer-facing environment
• Proven experience in television or general entertainment marketing at a senior level.
• Experience working with all other aspects of the Marketing mix to drive commercial outcomes
• Experience executing campaigns and elements such as contests, stunts, sponsorships, print, on-air, off-air and social media
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent leadership - must have experience managing objectives and motivating colleagues through influence
• Demonstrated experience in setting and achieving sales objectives in conjunction with a sales team, agency or client partner
• Demonstrated experience in project or campaign management
• Organized and detail-oriented working style essential
• Problem solving and an ability to be a positive and creative thinker to generate innovation solutions
• Experience approving creative and working with agencies to deliver assets and services against a brief
• Exceptional inter-personal communication skills are essential
• Deep understanding of commercial deal terms within television and how to support sales in achieving and delivering on these
• Thorough understanding of local television business dynamics across the UK
• Awareness of market trends and technologies in the UK marketplace
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and clients
• Must have a flexible approach to work, be pro-active and have the ability to work with little supervision
• Passion for the entertainment industry, digital entertainment and television industries
