Job Description:
We are looking for a Temporary Pricing Data Analyst for a 12 month assignment only. This position requires a detail-oriented individual capable of working with large amounts of data from various sources.
Job Responsibilties:
• Responsible for carrying out calculations to price new journal package offerings, by combining data from multiple sources and applying approved pricing methodologies.
• Work with the various sales teams to make necessary adjustments to calculation files based on special cases and regional variations.
• Seek opportunities for productivity improvements and identify ways in which current processes can be made more efficient.
• Work with the business systems teams to create a plan to automate calculations and implement when ready.
• Work with the MRPA (Management, Reporting, Planning & Analysis) team to provide any necessary information required to successfully complete any reporting or forecasting on the new journal package offerings.
• Identify ongoing, recurring problems and use initiative to resolve quickly
• Filter and edit information to spot trends, threats and opportunities
• Work alongside various stakeholders across Springer Nature, but in particular those from the Sales and MRPA teams.
• Work with other local and international colleagues across departments to understand their requirements, regional variations and complexities
• Assist with special projects which may arise from time to time.

Experience, education, skills and qualifications required:
• Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant business experience, ideally in a data or pricing analyst type role
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and attention to detail a must
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must have extensive knowledge in interpretation and manipulation of data
• Ability to express technical information in layman’s terms
• Ability to spot discrepancies/anomalies and knowing when to inform senior management
• Ability to work independently and discreetly deal with confidential information
• Highly reliable and able to produce workable solutions and deliver on time work products to high standards of quality
