TQ Education & Training (part of the Pearson Group) is a provider of outsourced training services to the UK Ministry of Defence, other public sector organisations and private companies both in the UK and overseas. This role, based in Pirbright, will support functional skills delivery as part of the Army Phase 1 Skills Profile contract with the MoD.
Please note this is a Part Time role working circa 20 hours per week
Key duties:
• Interrogating MIS database to produce timetables, course lists troop lists, learner folders and registers
• Monitoring course lists for movement of learners and updating course lists, registers, files accordingly
• General course administration, including purging course material and completing end of course procedures
• Maintaining stock levels of resources including lesson resources, stationery, etc
• Supporting tutor team with lesson administration
• Any other tasks that may become part of the administrator role on a temporary or permanent basis
Key Performance Indicators
• Timely completion of all tasks ahead of the course timetables
• Accurate production of all course records and timetables
• Maintain adequate levels of printed resources and stationery so as to avoid temporary outages
• Show initiative in developing own role, systems and processes with a view to improving efficiency and effectiveness
Relationships
• A wide range of internal and external stakeholders including:
• Lead Tutor and tutor team members
• Army contact points include: Reprographics, Post Room, Guardroom, BSDMs and Course Office
General Duties
• To be responsible for your own welfare by following the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and other related policies such as Equality, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Prevention of Harassment, Public Disclosure “Whistle-blowing” and Data Protection etc
• To undertake/perform other duties associated with this role, by agreement
• Execute the responsibilities of your role according to standards, as set out in the Code of Conduct and staff handbook
• Take responsibility for personal CPD and lifelong learning
• To maintain a professional image and enhance the company’s reputation for quality and service
Qualifications
Essential
• Strong administrative and IT skills
• GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent
• Able to communicate with colleagues and customers via email, phone calls and face to face
• Work as part of a team
• Can prioritise own workload
• Able to plan and organise
• Use a range of computer applications and ICT including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and e-mail
Desirable
• Knowledge of the military
• ECDL qualification
• Working towards NVQ L2 in Business Administration (if not already possessed)
