Pearson’s Finance department enjoys a strong partnership with our various business including assessments, services, digital, course-ware, operations and enabling functions.
We are seeking a commercially focused Business Partner and Adviser to take the lead on financial matters and ensure delivery of business and operational objectives. As the successful candidate, you will challenge the business to drive sustainable value proactively through informed and insightful decision making which includes business analysis, managing investment priorities and identifying solutions for operational improvements and cost opportunities.
In addition to the above, you will perform your role in a way that is consistent and with extensive collaboration within Finance and across Pearson to create effective and integrated financial solutions.
Qualifications
Your leadership style is collaborative and encourages sharing of ideas and team cohesion. You will have proven interpersonal skills and feel comfortable communicating across functions and departments at all levels. You are a problem solver and a creative thinker, able to apply imagination when developing solutions to problems.
Selection criteria:
• Substantial experience in a senior finance role in a multi-national matrix organization
• Strong understanding of materiality and ability to prioritize across competing agendas
• Ability to conduct investment analysis and capital asset evaluation
• Deep accounting knowledge – qualification as an accountant or MBA degree
• Ability to identify business risks and implementation of tactics to mitigate
• Understanding of business performance management and process optimization and experience of working in these areas
• An understanding of putting internal financial results into an external market context
• Understanding of digital and services business models
• Proven capability to develop and lead high performance diverse teams
• Understand the principles of change management and demonstrated ability to champion and drive change
