Pearson’s Finance department enjoys a strong partnership with our various business including assessments, services, digital, course-ware, operations and enabling functions.
We are currently seeking a Finance Manager to take ownership of the Compliance, Record to Report, Purchase to Pay, Tax, Treasury and Statutory Accounting functions both from a control and performance perspective, fully utilizing the resources of our BPO partner, IBM and local resource to ensure activity is performed effectively and efficiently, in a cost effective manner.

You will have proven interpersonal skills and feel comfortable communicating across functions and departments at all levels. You are a problem solver and a creative thinker, able to apply imagination when developing solutions to problems.
• Substantial experience in a senior finance role in a multi-national matrix organization
• Strong understanding of materiality and ability to prioritize across competing agendas
• Ability to conduct investment analysis and capital asset evaluation
• Deep accounting knowledge – qualification as an accountant or MBA degree
• Ability to identify business risks and implementation of tactics to mitigate
• Understanding of business performance management and process optimization and experience of working in these areas
• An understanding of putting internal financial results into an external market context
• Understanding of finance specialist areas: tax, treasury, M&A, compliance, corporate governance and ability to utilize proper judgement to involve them as necessary
• Proven capability to develop and lead high performance diverse teams
• Understand the principles of change management and demonstrated ability to champion and drive change
