As the Technical Program Manager in Blackboard Product Development, you will provide leadership in the daily operations of the organization, ensuring management visibility into projects, priorities, and product health. You will also lead the effort to drive continuous improvement throughout Blackboard’s software development lifecycle, which will require deep knowledge of Agile software development principles and practices.
Responsibilities:
• Provide operational insight into Product Development (PD)
◦ Establish, monitor and evolve key performance indicators and organizational goals
◦ Drive and evolve comprehensive monthly PD operations reviews for senior management
◦ Standardize product and project status reporting across PD
◦ Establish and maintain dashboards and other tools to provide daily insight into PD operations
• Guide continuous process improvement in PD
◦ Work with PD stakeholders to identify and resolve process inefficiencies
◦ Implement process improvements and measure results
◦ Collaborate with stakeholders to improve insight required for data-driven decision making
◦ Identify training needs within PD and propose solutions
• Facilitate collaboration across PD
◦ Coordinate complex projects spanning multiple teams
◦ Promote sharing of information and best practices across teams
◦ Coordinate with external stakeholders in Business Development, Professional Services, Product Management, and Corporate Administration to ensure PD alignment with business goals
Professional Qualifications:
• Solid full-lifecycle software development and project/program/portfolio management experience spanning a minimum of 10 years
• Success as a hands-on manager of complex projects with significant organizational, process, and technical components
• Exposure to a variety of software development methodologies
• Deep experience and knowledge Agile processes and Scrum
• Knowledge and advocacy of software development lifecycle best practices
• Experience working with senior management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced analytical skills with proven experience in facilitating data-driven decision making
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or management discipline
