Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager, Props partners with the Manager, Props in providing total oversight of fabrication, acquisition and installation of props for theme park attractions. They also provide assistance managing and reviewing the overall schedule and budget, as well as provide additional direction to staff and vendors.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists in managing temporary Creative Consultants and contracted vendors’ work and timelines. Reports daily work to Props Manager to measure against existing timelines. Assists in communicating .to the team any changes in scope as directed by Creative and/or Art Director and adjusting assigned works as needed.
• Assists in managing prop placement; artistic renovations of purchased or found items. Assists in managing efforts for in-house window mock-ups as per the Props Manager, interprets themes and concepts, translating ideas and designs into mock-ups. Researches and acquires theme appropriate props with consideration to environmental and guest abuse conditions.
• Responsible for adhering closely to the prop budget as well as monitoring the tracking system for acquisition, storage, and installation. Ensures all P-Card and T&E expenses are entered into system properly and timely for accurate tracking and reporting.
• Estimates supplies and labor necessary for props. Assists Props Manager in creating bid forms and ECCRs.
• Assists Props Manager in determining accurate distribution of the team’s labor hours to projects.
Qualifications/Requirements
EDUCATION: High school degree or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree: Architecture, Engineering or related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
• 2-4 Years: Experience in props procurement and tracking in the theme park industry required.
• 4-6 years’ experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
