Summary of role
This role sits within the Employee Communications team, whose mission is to inform, engage, inspire and empower Pearson employees all around the world. Part of the wider global Corporate Affairs team, you will be at the heart of building the Pearson culture and embedding our values, working closely with HR colleagues and the senior leadership team to act on feedback from our employee surveys.
In this role, you will deliver consistent, high quality communications across a variety of channels and internal audiences, specifically for our Core market employees.
The role will allow you to really stretch and build your skills. It will best suit someone with an in-depth experience of internal communications roles and with a solid working understanding of change management principles. Digital creative skills (e.g. video editing and production, or Adobe CS experience) are desirable, but training may be available. Strong creative and organisational skills are essential.
Responsibilities
Working closely with another Employee Communications Manager, under the leadership of the Director of Employee Communications for Finance, Legal and Core markets, you will be responsible for:
• Developing and delivering employee communications strategy for Core markets
• Creating and delivering communication plans for large complex projects and activities
• Creating content including presentations, simple videos, news updates, blog posts and templates, working in partnership with colleagues across the business, and sometimes with external agencies
• Planning and delivering large employee events, such as annual Town Halls, webcasts and leadership engagement activities
• Owning and maintaining key spaces and groups within the Pearson social intranet system (Neo).
• Advising members of the Core leadership teams about using internal digital channels such as Neo.
• Ensuring that employee communications for the Core markets are clear, engaging and consistent
Qualifications and experience:
• Proven track record of delivering complex communications and/or change programs to support engagement and change within a global business environment.
• Excellent collaboration and project management skills
• Familiarity with working with HR, Communications and business teams to deliver communications and change plans
• Very strong written and verbal communications and influencing skills
• Excellent project management, planning and collaboration skills, as well as ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Expertise in creating creative, digital content a strong advantage.

• Global perspective/ experience of working with multiple cultures, different countries
• Engaging with the global employee communications network to support cascade of global messages.
• Working with the global employee communications network to develop and deliver campaigns and projects.
• Defining and sharing best practice in internal communications; guiding employees on how best to communicate locally and providing tools and frameworks to support this.
• Measuring the effectiveness of employee communications activity.
