Ubisoft is looking for its Annecy Production Studio a Narrative Designer (M/F) to join a team in charge of developing an AAA game.
Job Description
The Narrative Designer works closely with other designers and writers to create missions, scenarios and other story content for the game. The Narrative Designer also designs and implements narrative tools to support the narrative experience and player immersion.
• Collaborate with Level Designers and Environment Artists to design playable content that provide players with compelling narrative experiences
• Collaborate with Writers to develop the narrative arc and to implement the story into the game
• Collaborate with Audio designers to create ambience which supports narrative content
• Support game design in contextualizing systems and features to fit with the logic of the world
• Understand the intentions of the Directors and translate their vision into playable content
• Design and implement narrative tools that can be used to tell the story of the game
• Write and maintain documentation
• Carry out all other related tasks
Qualifications
Diploma in Game Design is required and you have a minimum of 5 years’ work experience in narrative design or any other relevant experience.
Skills:
• Excellent understanding of game design fundamentals and processes
• Understanding of narrative elements across genre and media
• Exceptional written and oral language skills
• Good knowledge of the game production pipeline
• Ability to collaborate, and respond to feedback/notes in a mature and timely manner
• Organizational skills
• Adaptability to development changes
• Fluent in English, French is a plus
