Responsibilities
CNBC is seeking a high-performing individual to help drive business development. We’re looking for a dynamic team player who will thrive in a fast-paced, hardworking entrepreneurial atmosphere. This will position report to the SVP, Strategy & Business Development for CNBC and will be based out of it’s Englewood Cliffs, NJ headquarters with some time required at NBC Universal offices in New York City.
As a Director of Business Development, you will help to shape business strategy, identify and negotiate partnerships and investments for the global leader in business news and money-themed content. You will partner with business leaders to determine the best opportunities for growth, which may include leading deal execution in support of generating alternative revenue streams, video strategy, building brand extensions, helping to acquire a new product capability, or pursuing a key strategic partnership or investment. You will participate as a thought leader who has a keen understanding of industry trends and key influencers. When an opportunity has been identified, you will lead discussions with potential partners, evaluate and present options to senior management, and negotiate to make those opportunities a reality.
Responsibilities:
• Provide thought leadership in developing long term strategies and growth opportunities for CNBC
• Screen new venture and acquisition opportunities
• Help architect how we adapt to a rapidly changing marketplace
• Drive innovation around how we produce and package business news and entertaining money-themed content to address changes in content consumption and monetization
• Influence business strategies based on expertise and understanding of industry landscape, trends and competitors
• Own and manage transactions resulting from business strategies
Qualifications/Requirements
• 4 years of experience in business or corporate development or strategy / management consulting within the following industries: Digital Media, Technology and/or Entertainment.
