Springer Nature is recruiting within the Author Services Marketing team. This role will report to the Director of Marketing and Author Services and the individual will engineer and promote our best in class researcher services across the Springer Nature brands to deliver strategies that engage and support the researcher at all stages.
This is an ideal opportunity for a market- and data-driven marketing professional to explore the potential afforded by working at a leading force in academic publishing and make their mark on the future of the scholarly publishing industry.
Candidates should have a familiarity with the publishing landscape and should exhibit an understanding for the importance of brand loyalty, a penchant for customer engagement and the desire to improve the way publishers work with and serve their authors.
They will analyze authors’ interaction with our services and gather data on customer behavior to help create and implement marketing plans to increase author satisfaction, acquisitions, usage of author services, and raise general awareness among key target audiences (e.g. Early Career Researchers).
They will also work hard to nurture close, collaborative relationships across many teams within every Springer Nature brand. While the majority of the role is market-facing, internal promotion, on-boarding, connecting and supporting is an equally important task.
Defining elements of the position include:
• Continue the track record of using a market- and data-driven approach to successfully piloting, building, improving and communicating researcher services.
• Analyzing customer data to inform brand loyalty strategy.
• Supporting Springer Nature’s author/editor/peer reviewers in collaboration with essential support teams.
• Working with the Business Owners/Management on marketing, promotion, benchmarking and reporting.
• Offering insight to the customer journey/profile/roles/needs and developing a pipeline of services to be vetted/considered/launched/revised/etc.
• Managing projects and partner relationships across several divisions simultaneously.
• Utilize customer engagement and atomization skills to recruit researcher and target author groups.
• Planning and marketing of piloted and established initiatives.
• Curate analysis and quarterly reporting and communication of real time marketing efforts.
• Managing and contributing to company internal and external communication outlets, such as blogs, social media, news, newsletters, and timely updates to the company intranet.
• Other relevant duties as required.
