SUMMARY
Hulu’s Technology team is seeking an Associate Technical Program Manager, UX Design who will be an exceptional addition to our Design TPM team. As a Design TPM at Hulu, you are the leader of our Seattle UX team’s project management activities. You are responsible for the coordination and communication of UX deliverables, you’ll be a bridge between Product Owners, Designers and Development, and play an important part in planning the future design work for Hulu. The right person for this role has a passion and knowledge of design processes and tools, working knowledge and experience in program management and the personality to lead cross functional departments to resolution and completion. You will be a self-starter with excellent design sense, communication, and interpersonal skills who has the ability to openly contribute ideas within a highly collaborative and cross-functional team. You will help to build Hulu’s high performance culture by projecting design’s voice into the product, driving predictability and holding the teams accountable. WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Drive the creative workflow for both internal and external design and UX teams, ensuring forward movement from inception to completion
• Interface and drive collaboration between the UX, Dev and Product Management teams, connect all three groups, and ensure inter-dependencies are understood and planned for effectively
• Identify UX team needs with regards to process, tools, documentation, asset management, etc. Implement and drive required changes to make sure designers can be most efficient.
• Collaborate with team leadership in key UX workflow activities, including: scheduling design reviews, resource allocation, and coordination of teams and approval processes.
• Define and manage project schedules and manage work with external design vendor(s).
• Provide clear communication to cross-functional team leads regarding design deliverable status, resource requirements, issues, and priorities.
• Proactively identify risks, prioritize them, and create plans to resolve in a timely manner.
• Insure the design teams in all offices are in collaboration with one another and all working toward a consistent design throughout the Hulu Product
WHAT TO BRING
• 2-5 years experience managing interactive, design, or creative projects
• Experience in user-centered design process and Agile software development process
• Ability to interact with a diverse set of technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience and passion working with consumer facing applications
• Experience working within engineering organizations, especially working with front-end engineers and keeping them updated on the latest designs and assets
• Proven ability to multitask, analyze opportunities, define successful approaches, and solve problems.
• Strong familiarity design tools, graphic formats and user interface technologies
• Working knowledge of project management software and Agile tools, especially JIRA/Confluence.
• Bachelor’s degree
NICE-TO-HAVES
• Experience managing external design vendor relationships and facilitating external agency deliverables.
• Experience with Vendor Contracts, SOW’s and change orders
• Experience off-site leadership and stake-holders and overcoming the challenges there-in
