Bloomberg News specialises in business, financial and economic news. Its stories are followed by government and industry leaders, including central banks, commercial banks, brokerage houses and government agencies, as they make key financial and investment decisions.
Stories are transmitted via the Bloomberg Professional Service, which reaches about 325,000 financial professionals at the world's leading companies, financial institutions and government agencies. Bloomberg content is also distributed via its TV and radio stations, websites and newsletters.
Bloomberg News journalists produce more than 5,000 stories every day in eight different languages. The content is also syndicated to more than 440 newspapers, magazines and websites around the world.
What’s in it for you?
As a Bloomberg News summer intern, you will gain hands-on experience reporting and writing for the news service. Working with Bloomberg journalists around the world, you will contribute to coverage of financial markets, companies, economies and government and produce breaking news stories under real-time deadline pressure.
You will receive a week of intensive training before joining the newsroom as active members of our reporting teams. A typical day involves interviewing investors, executives and others in the financial industry, attending press conferences, following the markets and developing stories with a focus on market-moving news.
We’ll need you to have:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• An Interest in financial markets, companies and economies
• Prior experience in reporting, with experience in a real-time news environment being desirable
• The ability to work within a team under deadline pressure
• Fluent written and spoken English with a second language being desirable
• Availability to work in London for 10 weeks commencing July 3rd, 2017
