The demand for content-driven marketing programs is expanding at a rapid pace. The Economist’s content marketing, research and sponsorship business has been producing high quality, custom thought leadership content for over 25 years and is an integral part of The Economist Group’s growth strategy.
Currently, we are recruiting a Senior creative strategist who will lead the development of integrated content programmes that deliver on client marketing objectives and leverage the depth and quality of Economist Group product offerings. The role reports to the Director of Creative Strategy and partners closely with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) Thought Leadership team, the sales organization and Integrated Marketing to develop proposals for potential clients.
Accountabilities:
In this role you would be expected to:
• Understand the full suite of Economist Group solutions (including, but not limited to client-branded content, EIU thought leadership, Economist Events and media) that can be leveraged to support a client’s marketing goals and measures for success. A strength in media and distribution planning a plus.
• Identify appropriate client solutions, culling from the portfolio of Economist Group capabilities in the context of client goals, target audience and success metrics
• Define programs up to $400K in value that incorporate paid, owned and earned channels and consider opportunities for content discovery, distribution and amplification
• Collaborate with Sales, EIU thought leadership, client-branded content teams, and research to develop and deliver client proposals. Attend client meetings and pitches as needed
• Collaborate with EIU Thought Leadership team and Sales to identify integrated programme opportunities and craft corresponding programme recommendations
• Provide strategic leadership and insights on client-branded and integrated marketing programmes
• Act as a primary engagement contact on integrated content projects
• Promote awareness of the Economist Group’s content solution offering
• Ensure the execution of sold programs stays on strategy
Experience, skills and professional attributes:
To succeed in this role you must have:
• 3-6 years experience in a marketing organization, publisher or creative/media agency in relevant roles
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• A client-focused with some experience with strategic outputs
• Experience developing content recommendations and programs for clients that span paid, owned and earned platforms
• Experience managing both direct reports and cross-functional team members
• An ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
• An understanding of the content marketing landscape and areas of opportunity for us
• Experience with B2B brands

• A creative, analytic and strategic thinking and a disciplined executional approach
• Effectiveness as a team member and at relationship building
• Excellent communications and presentation skills
• Strong knowledge of digital marketing, content formats and an attention to detail
• Good Powerpoint skills and proficiency with MS Office as a whole
