Ubisoft Singapore opened its doors on July 2008 as Ubisoft’s 18th internal development studio. Located in Fusionopolis (a state-of-the-art Infocomm Technology and Media hub) Ubisoft Singapore is recognized today as one of Asia’s premier game development studios. It now employs a multi-national team of 300 highly talented employees that comprise of a core team of Ubisoft veterans as well as a fast growing development team ranging from recent graduates to industry professionals.
Over the past eight years, the full-fledged development studio co-developed major AAA titles such as Assassin’s Creed® II, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands®, Assassin’s Creed® Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed® Revelations, Assassin’s Creed® III, Assassin’s Creed IV® Black Flag™, Assassin’s Creed® Rogue, Assassin’s Creed® Unity, and most recently, Assassin’s Creed® Syndicate. Ubisoft Singapore pioneered the development of naval battle gameplay and water technology – elements first introduced in Assassin’s Creed IV® Black Flag™ which have since become a staple feature in the Assassin’s Creed® franchise. Responsibilities
• Work closely with Level Designers, as well as developers from other disciplines, to develop game content
• Go through Game Design documents to get to know all about the environments, objects, ambiances, story, style, and understand the global experience of the game
• Solves difficult technical problems encountered during design, implementation, or debugging phase
• Communicate efficiently with the other teams on the problems you met and the solutions to bring
• Helps with ideas and feedback in the development of level design editors
• Integrate gameplay ingredients into maps, including: Scripted Events, Interactive Objects and Animated Objects
• Test and debug game content to ensure there is no conflict with the rest of the game
Requirement
• Recognised degree/diploma related to game development
• Is a passionate gamer with a solid video game culture
• Analytical thinking: Capacity to quickly understand game design rules, mechanics, balancing concepts and techniques
• Creativity : think outside the box, being able to see things in a different perspective
• Good level in written/spoken English
• Team Player
• Scripting/programming knowledge is a plus
• Experience with an existing level editor (i.e. Radiant, Unreal) is a plus
