You will be part of our Accounts Payable Department (AP) team which is part of the Finance Shared Service Center in Berlin. We are responsible for our publishing companies from Germany, Netherlands, UK, France, Switzerland and Austria. Parts of our work are outsourced to a third party (BPO provider). For incoming invoices we are using an electronic workflow tool.
Responsibilities
• Central contact to resolve incoming questions and queries from external and internal for all entities (International and German) handled by the Berlin Shared Service Center
• Responsible to reduce and follow up on debit balance, to analyze the double payment report, to run payment proposals and other finance related activities
• Customer support for all external and internal queries from vendors , authors and employees
• Using a ticketing tool to register all issues, reported by mail or phone
• Reduce debit balances
• Double payment report: run and check the report, identify duplicates and correct them
• Post returned checks/payments including research and resolution
• frequent communication with Springer Nature vendors, authors, employees and the BPO provider
• Deal with all other AP tasks, e.g. invoice processing, vendor master data creation and maintenance, mailroom, manual postings.
Profile
Must have
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in the areas of AP
• Must be well organized, detail oriented
• Customer service minded
• Concern for quality and accuracy as well as cultural awareness
• Pro-active problem solver
• Very good English and German language skills (both minimum B2)
Desirable
• Experience working with 3rd party oversees AP processing vendors preferred
• SAP experience
