HarperCollins Christian Publishing is in search of a Senior Marketing Director for their Bibles division. The Sr. Marketing Director for Thomas Nelson Bibles directs and oversees all marketing initiatives for new release and backlist title sales goals across all Thomas Nelson Bibles. Develops strategies and executes plans to ensure both sell-in and sell-through results. The Sr. Marketing Director (SMD) is responsible for leading Marketing Managers and Marketing Coordinator in the development of innovative marketing plans, execution of those plans and measuring the resulting performance. Additionally, the SMD is responsible for measurement of ROI for implemented programs, making adjustments as necessary, and/or launching phase two plans as required. SMD manages the Thomas Nelson Bible marketing budgets, establishes title budget parameters, tracks budget spends, and reports to the SVP of Marketing.

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Marketing Director include but are not limited to:
Essential Responsibilities:
Product Marketing
• Oversee marketing initiatives for the Thomas Nelson Bible Group supporting new release and backlist title sales goals
• Develop marketing strategies which appropriately utilize paid, earned, and social media
• Determine objectives and goals for event involvement and sponsorship opportunities related to active ISBNs or total Bible Group strategy
• Establish detailed creative briefs for in-house creative team, agency, or freelancer on campaign concepts driven by consumer profiles, product concepts, channel partner requirements and budget restraints
• Implement communication plans for internal, partner and consumer information sharing
• Execute plans to ensure both sell-in and sell-through results, testing during and after campaigns
• Create multi-faceted Marketing Plans with a consumer focus on brand stories, new product launches, signature backlist titles, and umbrella product lines
• Select and manage vendors for marketing and creative initiatives
• Direct publicity programs for launches, collective efforts to which the Bible Group is a major contributor and other newsworthy Bible Group efforts
• Partner with Sr. Director of Digital Marketing Initiatives to establish social media strategy for Bible Group brands and products
• Partner with Sr. Director of Marketing for Zondervan Bibles to maximize all opportunities to grow the momentum of the HCCP Bibles
• Monitor campaign progress, making adjustments to improve ROI and regular reporting to Bible Group Leadership
• Manage Marketing Managers and Marketing Coordinator, aiding in prioritization process, providing daily marketing leadership, and tracking performance
• Manage the M&P budget, establishing title budget parameters, tracking budget spends by verifying POs and spend are aligned, participating in monthly budget reviews and reporting to Bible Group leadership
• Participate in strategy sessions to help mold and direct the Bible Group brands and products
• Present Marketing campaigns and plans to Management and Sales
General Responsibilities
• Partner with full Bible leadership team to ensure all communication efforts are aligned
• Obtain collaborative feedback on product concepts and execution from internal stakeholders and external focus groups
• Prepare presentations and enable sales delivery of information for all products in all Bible categories
• Increase market share and category leadership for HCCP Bibles
Qualifications:
Desired candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, education and skills:
Work Experience:10 or more years with significant career progression
Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or Related Field
Industry Knowledge:In Depth working knowledge of the Bible and passionate about Thomas Nelson Bible translations (preferred). 5-7 years in Publishing and/or Christian Marketing also preferred.
Skills: Proficient with MSOffice and MAC applications, especially PowerPoint. Comfortable with business system technology and various data mining applications.
