About Razorfish:
The Strategist is an entry-level graduate position or experienced hire, capable of working closely with a cross-functional team to complete, independently, any number of research or strategy development tasks. With guidance from a Manager or Director, the Strategist will be expected to interface with the client and, at times, present their work to the client and project teams.
Job Description:
Strategists will be wholly responsible for discrete Strategy tasks and deliverables on cross-functional project teams, business development initiatives, and retainer accounts. They will be expected to present those deliverables to their teams and/or clients. Their primary responsibility will be to provide an in-depth understanding of the factors that impact our clients' business. They will be expected to interface with the client and other Disciplines to formulate a point of view on the audience, landscape, and industry. Whether it's done through a landscape audit, research exercise, or business model, the Strategist must be able to craft and present a cohesive story to deliver that point of view. Although still generalists, participating in initiatives across industries and functional teams; Strategists should start to build and demonstrate knowledge in specific areas. They will help to identify and lead the development of intellectual capital for the Strategy Group and for any other functional teams to which they belong.
Responsibilities:
◦ Provide an in-depth understanding of the factors that impact our clients' business
◦ Interface with the client and other Disciplines to formulate a point of view on the audience, landscape, and industry
◦ Determine strategic solution (landscape audit, research exercise, or business model) to craft and present a cohesive story to deliver that point of view
◦ Present those deliverables to their teams and/or clients
Management/Leadership:
◦ Run the summer internship program: recruiting, onboarding, and coaching
◦ Serve as managers and coaches for summer interns
◦ Serve as mentors and buddies to new hires at their level or below
Qualifications:
Education and job qualifications
# Entry-level graduate hire:Graduate degree in any business-relate field -OR-
# Junior experienced hire:Undergraduate degree, with 4 to 6 years of experience in marketing, digital, or management consulting
Capabilities
# Demonstrates ability to be both strategic and tactical
# Excellent quantitative analysis skills and ability to perform basic statistical analysis
# Ability to review vast amounts of research, synthesize and draw relevant conclusions
# Strong interpersonal and communication skills; solid team player needed
# Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required
# Experience in consumer brand marketing (consulting or client-side)
# Experience with online strategy, site development strategy, basic front-end technology issues
# Has demonstrated proficiency leading a secondary research effort and determining the right primary or secondary research methodology to use
# Has contributed to the creation and execution of primary research exercise (including user interviews, surveys, etc.)
# Has shown the ability to identify, understand, evaluate, and solve a discrete client challenge
# Has demonstrated the ability to craft and present a compelling narrative or story
# Has demonstrated a solid understanding of potential client solutions across the digital ecosystem
# Has demonstrated the ability to multitask and reach out to others on the team for support
# Has demonstrated the ability to work independently with other disciplines and the client
# Has actively contributed to and collaborated in the formulation of final strategic recommendation
# Has shown the ability to facilitate a portion of a client workshop
# Has contributed to knowledge sharing by writing a thought piece or attending a conference
# Has shown a passion for the Razorfish brand and business
# Has demonstrated the ability to be an advocate for the company's offerings and expertise
