Position Summary:
The VP of Video Production and Programming is responsible for creating, managing and executing plans for a digitally published video service for a high profile multi-media brand.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create, manage and execute video production for high profile, daily radio show.
• Direct and oversee the visual capture and edit of live radio show for video distribution quickly after original broadcast.
• Curate, program and maximize content of a significant video asset library, to include re-purposing of these assets for on and off-platform video distribution.
• Develop and produce supplemental short-form and long-form original video content.
• Coordinate with creative and production staff of radio show to maximize video content.
• Ensure that video/digital content is compelling and entertaining to current fans and subscribers while engaging and drawing in new fans to develop new audiences using video.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Hire, manage and lead a team of producers, program directors, editors and production staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 15 years of media and television experience as a high level producer or program director, including specific experience with:
◦ Live television or events,
◦ original video content, and
◦ content rights management.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with digital content production within a media or entertainment company.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience managing people within a production/programming environment.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Possesses a strong editorial eye for developing creative and strategic video programming.
• Ability to effectively manage, lead and influence to meet business objectives.
• Comedic and current events sensibility.
• Strong program and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact and work with individuals at all levels.
• Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task within a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment; effectively manages stress and emotions under pressure.
• Prior experience working with high profile talent and celebrities.
• Highest level of responsibility securing appropriate approvals and vetting content for rights prior to broadcast.
• Entrepreneurial spirit; excited about the future of digital content and next generation video services.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Highly proficient with emerging camera technology (360/VR/AR).
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
