Position Summary:
Responsible for leading integration of core SiriusXM software into OEM/Tier-1 Software Ecosystems for advanced satellite and IP applications. Works directly with software engineers and architects at the Tier-1 system provider and/or OEM software integrator to plan, implement, integrate, and validate the SiriusXM software in the embedded environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs customer-specific technology planning by working directly with OEM and Tier-1/Software Integrator to determine required integration architecture and interfaces for implementing SiriusXM software.
• Identifies customer-specific application requirements which apply to SiriusXM software.
• Proactively identifies and solves SiriusXM software integration issues with OEM/Tier-1 Software Ecosystem engineers and developers, via analysis, experiment, specification, and/or proof-of-concept code.
• Serves as technical single-point-of-contact with OEM/Tier-1 Software Ecosystem in conjunction with SiriusXM Account and Business Development teams during early development, leading technical marketing efforts during advanced development planning.
• Provides hands-on guidance to SiriusXM application software scrum team regarding implementing SiriusXM software in target customer environment.
• Works closely with SiriusXM software team to enable delivery for customer-specific requirements within a defined framework and process.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Not initially required.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in the design and development of OEM Infotainment software.
• Demonstrable track record of specifying, creating, and releasing OEM Infotainment software (in design-responsible and release-responsible roles).
• Direct technical knowledge of SiriusXM satellite delivery products, systems, modules, or software.
• Direct technical knowledge of IP-based delivery of content into vehicles.
• Strong comprehension of embedded operating systems and application-level frameworks as applied to Infotainment delivery.
• Familiarity with popular automotive frameworks required (QNX, QT, Android, Automotive Linux, Genivi, etc.).
• A strong technical/scientific mind with experience in effectively developing technical papers and application notes to support OEM-specific development.
• This position particularly requires experience in programming for embedded Android systems.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Extensive experience in holding software design responsibility for OEM Infotainment products.
• Ability to understand and specify software structures and APIs.
• Experience and interest in embedded product software development (C, C++, Java, etc.) required within framework of popular automotive infotainment operating systems (Android, Linux, QNX, QT).
• Capability to develop and publish system sequence diagrams for interface interaction (using tools such as Enterprise Architect, etc.).
• Good technical presentation skills.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with a variety of technical teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
• Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
• Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
• Spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills.
• Creative writing ability .
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Capability to utilize with various Integrated Development Tools (IDE), such as Eclipse, Visual Studio, QNX Momentics for code development and analysis.
