Position Summary:
This position manages, executes and supports all aspects of complex Direct Mail campaigns. You will work closely with the external mail house/printer and the internal Marketing team. This is a collaborative position which requires someone who is very detail oriented and organized.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide excellent customer service to and consult with the internal marketing team. Ensure that their needs are satisfied in an efficient, timely and collaborative manner. This includes researching new requests and brainstorming to come up with innovative solutions.
• Work with marketing team to launch new direct mail campaigns, make changes to existing campaigns and implement creative/copy tests.
• Serve as the liaison between the team of marketing managers, mail house/printer and internal creative department.
• Maintain high quality, error free execution for each print project and direct mail package.
• Write detailed set-up instructions for mail house and obtain cost estimates.
• Proof letter copy -- ensure that customer information, offer details and versions are accurate.
• Manage printed inventory for all package components -- forecast and track quantities. Update, proof and re-order materials.
• Look for ways to refine, improve or simplify direct mail packages and the related mail house processes.
• Track and manage costs -- direct mail, postage and fulfillment costs. Process invoices. Look for ways to save money.
• Keep historical records -- maintain lists of current/upcoming direct mail campaigns and print jobs.
• Assist with keeping printed samples organized and with maintaining quarterly historical archives and sample notebooks.
• Handle special projects and research as assigned. Stay updated on direct mail trends and lettershop innovations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BA or BS in Marketing, Business, English or a related area; or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years experience with mail house management, print production and proofing
Requirements and General Skills:
• Must be detail oriented and very organized
• Hands-on experience with executing complex direct mail campaigns in a fast paced environment
• Proofreading and budget forecasting
• Strong project management skills
• Knowledge of using variable copy, digital assets and data driven content in letters a plus
• Solid communication skills -- both written and verbal
• Time management skills; ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under shifting deadlines
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects
• Self-motivated, proactive team player and independent worker
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Create and update Excel spreadsheets/charts
