Position Summary:
Designs and implements robust and scalable solutions to establish and maintain desktop hardware and software standards across all corporate client machines. Develops and implements infrastructure solutions in support of the desktop environment that provides value-added services and enables clients to meet industry-best-practices for management and security (e.g., virtualization solutions, anti-virus, personal firewalls). Provides Tier 3 client engineering support for desktop software deployments. Directly responsible for desktop solutions and products including hardware standards for desktops, notebooks, and peripherals, operating systems, core builds and standard shrink-wrapped software such as Microsoft Office. Documents developments required for acceptance and formal approval of builds through engineering and security activities. Provides consultation on complex projects and is a top-level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides escalated, highly complex technical support to customers by investigating and resolving systems-related matters.
• Recommends moderately complex system(s) investment(s) to management and customers based on results of assessment of current and future performance, stability, and systems management/life cycle issues.
• Reviews literature, patents, license agreements and current practices to support business requirements and/or new industry technology.
• Prepares reports regarding new technology to communicate to management.
• Identifies, evaluates, and recommends new products, technologies, roadmaps and strategies.
• Develops technical standards and ensures compliance with existing standards.
• Provides 3rd level client support; deploys applications & manages workstations using enterprise management tools.
• Plans, conducts and oversees the technical aspects of projects; coordinates the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects; provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
• Performs and evaluates cost analyses and vendor comparisons for large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations.
• Develops documentation; oversees implementation of same.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar area of specialty
• Minimum 8 years IT system experience.
• 5 years Windows Desktop OS administration experience with extended Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
• Proven application integration experience.

Technical Skills:
• Strong Microsoft System Center (SCCM and SCOM) and Citrix XenApp, XenServer.
• Implement, maintain and document PC build processes and procedures.
• Maintain an enterprise level Active Directory environment, including Group Policy.
• Define hardware and software standards.
• Design for and maintain a Terminal Server farm.
• Design for and maintain print servers.
• Create, execute and maintain software and patch deployment methods.
• Evaluate monthly security updates for environment compatibility.
• Assist other team members to troubleshoot complex customer problems to resolution or escalation.
• MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) with UDI (User Driven Interface) integration.
• Powershell and VB Script.
• Working knowledge of application packaging technologies (MSI, Admin Studio, App-V).
• Windows 7/8.1/2003/2008/2012.
• Office 2010/2013/365.
