Position Summary:
Installs, configures, and maintains organization's Data Networking and Security Infrastructure environments. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with Network and Security hardware, components and application software. Identifies, resolves and reports on advanced hardware, software and operator problems. Makes advanced repairs, or refers to next level service personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Build, implement, configure, performance tune and maintain network equipment for the enterprise.
• Responsible for implementing network systems including security filters.
• Support IP Telephony configurations utilizing Avaya IP technology.
• Maintain and monitor network and security systems, including troubleshooting network and security issues.
• Support VPN concentrators, firewalls, web filters and end user access problems.
• Implement and maintain wireless networks and their access and security.
• Recommend, evaluate and implement new network and security hardware and software.
• Responsible for keeping help desk tickets up to date with accurate and detailed information until problem resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining detailed network documentation.
• May lead or direct the work of others.
• Maintain web filtering service for the enterprise.
• Support PCI initiatives for the enterprise, including vulnerability scanning and remediation of issues.
• Perform regular maintenance of core corporate network and security systems.
• Plan and schedule all major project related activities in accordance to organizational guidelines.
• Provide technical support to users; call center OPS and assists in carrying out company objectives including software rollouts.
• Develop disaster recovery plans for the infrastructure addressing both hardware and software problems.
• Complete additional assignments as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma and some related technical training or equivalent work experience.
• CCNA/CCNP Certification is preferred.
• 5--7 years hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches.
• 2--3 years hands-on experience with Cisco or Juniper firewalls.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Experience in a 24/7 high availability call center is preferred, preferably with remote agent services.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within all levels of the organization.
• In-depth understanding of TCP/IP and networking concepts.
• Must have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision.
• Interfaces with other team members, including cross-functional teams, business users, and vendors.
• Required to be on-call 24 x 7.
• Occasionally work nights and/or weekend hours for implementations to minimize impact on organization.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Cisco routers and switches.
• Cisco and/or Juniper firewall.
• TCP/IP and other networking concepts.
