Position Summary:
The Manager, Development Engineering will manage the identification and development of core technologies and processes to be incorporated into the continuously evolving SXM media infrastructure within the Media Engineering department. This position will work alongside a team of media professionals responsible for the development and implementation of leading edge media systems supporting the creation and transmission of SXM media products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing the development of system architectures for media system development:
◦ Guide the development of key concepts for platform development.
◦ Manage processes that lead to developing, capturing, and implementing technical solutions to address requirements.
• Manage the implementation of metrics with respect to group performance.
• Manage the implementation of:
◦ Policies and procedures to ensure that systems support requirements and meet the needs of end users.
◦ Technical standards and functionality tests for system development.
◦ Specifications that drive system development.
• Be a liaison to industry groups and entities in an effort to develop concepts and internal standards into industry accepted standards and products to support SXM's business goals.
• Develop a culture that ensures system development across multiple platforms is consistent and meets SXM Media Standards.
• Understand media technology trends, assessing and leveraging state-of-the-art technologies
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Manage team efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 5-7 years of broadcast system engineering experience.
• 7-10 years of system design and implementation preferred.
• BSEE/BSEET/BSCS or equivalent industry experience required.
• Expertise in virtualization and cloud solutions preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of broadcast/media systems development.

Technical Skills:
• Deep knowledge of audio (analog and digital), audio systems, IP streaming (AOIP).
• Familiarity with audio production and processing.
• Familiarity with media asset management systems and digital media transmission systems.
• Familiarity with media compression technology and methods.
• Thorough understanding of IP based media systems.
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Working knowledge of Autocad/MS Visio.
• Computer networking experience and certification is a plus.
