We have an opening for an experienced, innovative, strategic Assistant Academic Designer (Editorial) – Life Science (Project Status Worker) in our Columbus, OH office. Does this sound like you?
Reporting to the Director, Academic Design, the Assistant Academic Designer (Editorial) – Life Science (Project Status Worker)will be responsible for assembling high-quality content based on specific product requirements.
Critical Functions:
• Plan and develop content (including learning trajectories, scope sequence, tables of contents, lessons, and teacher resources) for digital and print products.
• Correlate educational materials to national and state science standards.
• Communicate project requirements to authors, consultants, and freelance editors.
• Prepare manuscript, ensuring accuracy, readability, and grade-appropriateness in accordance with project specifications.
• Work in a Content Management System to assemble and produce educational content.
• Work on digital products with tasks such as metadata tagging, concept mapping, and digital editing.
• Complete photo and art requisition forms.
• Monitor and evaluate pedagogical and content area research and trends.
• Maintain and meet project schedules.
• Perform other editorial duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A successful candidate will have:
• Bachelor's degree with a major in Life Science or Science Education with Life Science major or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent English language skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and time-management skills.
• The successful candidate must be able to work extensively in a team environment.
• The successful candidate must be organized, and detail- and deadline-oriented.
• Experience working with digital curriculum development and digital products.
A successful candidate may have:
• Previous middle school teaching experience.
• Experience with Content Management Systems.
