The digital analyst intern is responsible for using marketing analytics to develop analytics implementation and optimization plans. By first listening, then analyzing, the team is able to provide invaluable knowledge for the client. These plans become integral to our clients’ overall business strategies. You will assist the VML insights team to design and implement plans that capture appropriate performance metrics and demonstrably increase return on investment (ROI).
Responsibilities:
• Work with VML analytics team to expand usage of web analytics tools to drive internal use and adoption
• Assist with pitches by providing social listening, competitive analysis and secondary research to inform strategy and creative development
• Assist the VML team with website tracking implementation and maintenance to ensure data accuracy and reliability
• Define site/campaign marketing metrics related to channel and analytics dashboards with input from agency/client; analyze and report holistically on a weekly basis
• Create, review and submit weekly insight reports for overall marketing dashboards that provide actionable insights and recommendations
• Exhibit a high level of interest in learning how to activate multiple data sources (site analytics, social, media, email, sales, paid search, etc.)
• Work with VML lead analysts to define, execute, analyze and present results of A/B and multivariate tests to marketing leaders and team members
• Create weekly and monthly reports delivered via Excel spreadsheets, BI tools or click-stream analytics tools
• Be highly motivated to be a part of client and internal presentations to represent analytics work accurately

Required Skills:
• Have interest in web analytics, social listening, data analysis, data visualization and insight development
• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote
• Understanding of SEM/PPC, SEO and online campaigns
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources
• Junior, senior or nontraditional student in college or recent graduate with coursework or experience in a related field
• Solid communication and organization skills
• Attention to detail, willingness to ask questions, ability to follow up and knowledge of overall media logistics
• Initiative, enthusiasm to learn and ability to follow direction
