The Technology Group - Online (TGO) works to develop online services for Ubisoft’s video game production teams. The TGO teams generate Web services and client SDKs that foster communication between the games and those services. The TGO teams also provide tools to configure the services and support productions seeking to integrate SDKs. Our products used by all Ubisoft games support over 10 different platforms (consoles, mobile, PC, web, etc.).
SUMMARY
Answering to the Team Lead, the person sought is a software developer who will be part of a team collaborating with Ubisoft game development teams during their integration of our C++ SDK and RESTful APIs, and also while they use of our Web portal.
RESPONSABILITIES
Software Development:
• Investigate technical problems encountered by productions teams
• Develop new features that answer pressing issues for these teams and patches
• Participate in optimisation activities in order to improve our products’ performances following their most current uses by production teams
• Increase test coverage for our products
Collaborate with production teams:
• Be the first contact for production teams’ questions
• Propose pertinent and robust solutions to these teams
• Challenge technical solutions conceived by productions so they respect established constraints
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation that answer integration questions
• Insure that productions are properly trained with regard to our products
• For new integrations, meet productions’ technical team to guide them step-by-step and allow a proper start to the integration process.
Qualifications
Education/Training:
Bachelor’s degree in computer programming or computer engineering or any other equivalent training.
Relevant experience:
• At least one year of C++ development
• Development experience with the STL and templates
• Experience with RESTful interfaces and Angular is an asset
• At least one year as an integration specialist, application engineer or in a technical support role
Other skills:
• Demonstrate excellent communication and vulgarization capabilities (in both French and English)
• Show enthusiasm in helping developers to solve technical problems in a robust and durable fashion
• Ability to manage several matters in parallel
• Demonstrate attention to details
