Manager, Finance Optimization
The Manager, Finance Optimization will serve as a member of the Finance Optimization Team based in Culver City, CA and report to the Executive Director, Finance Optimization. He/she will be responsible for PMO activities, process design, business case analytics, transition support, and presentation development for worldwide initiatives aimed at improving quality, efficiency, and performance of finance operations, tools, and processes.
To be successful, this individual must:
(a) Serve as an internal consultant / advisor to Finance leadership / management
(b) Apply technical expertise in finance and accounting to diagnose gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement
(c) Drive development of detailed improvement proposals and presentation of business case to demonstrate ROI to gain buy-in of key stakeholders
(d) Apply superior project and resource management skills to execute project implementations and deliver results on time and within budget
(e) Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Core Responsibilities:
Project Management and delivery
• Successfully delivering the objectives and benefits the sponsor expects of the project
• Ensure that the project deliverables are being completed within time, budget and per the stakeholders expectations
• Successfully manage the changing demands of the project and the team during the lifecycle of the project
• Regular and timely reporting of project progress to the project team, stakeholders and sponsors
• Proactively identify the manage foreseen project issues and risk and mitigate as necessary
• Ensure that all required statutory and regulatory conditions are being met
Process Improvement, Standardization and Governance
• Lead and support the process improvement and efficiency initiatives for Finance organization
• Successfully articulate the As-is and to process and demonstrate the benefits to the stakeholders for the process change/improvement initiatives
• Act as the Change agent for various process improvement initiatives across the finance organization
• Develop and deliver the stakeholders training as needed for various process improvement initiatives
• Develop and implement the governance model for service management across global shared service center(s)
• Develop and implement standard efficiency and KPI reports and dashboard to provide visibility to the leadership team
• Provide post go-live support to the stakeholders as needed to ensure the adaptation of process and tool by the stakeholders
Miscellaneous Initiatives Support
• Provide as needed support to various finance optimization team initiatives
Qualifications
BS in Business, Economics or related field
5+ year's experience
Knowledge of:
-Project/Program management methodology . -Process mapping and GAP analysis
-Understanding Corporate finance functions and concepts
Skill In:
-Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
-Expertise in MS Office Suite including advance levels in Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
Experience is Agile methodology and tools preferred
Understanding of SDLC concept required
-Ability to contribute to deliverable content by creating custom reports (MS Excel pivot tables), data modeling and analysis.
-Understand and assist the project team with utilization of the appropriate tools and techniques to meet client business requirements (Service Now, PPM)
-Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
-Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
-Demonstrate strong business acumen and understanding of finance concepts
-Must be able to use skills and leadership competencies for team building, client relations, negotiation, decision making, problem solving and conflict management
Ability To:
• Independently develop and follow a project plan and meet deliverables
• Proven ability to get things accomplished through others
• Proven ability to performing well in both a team atmosphere and independently
• Be an empathetic and objective listener
Willingness to travel internationally as and when required per the project need.
