The Open Research Marketing team deliver tailored marketing based on an understanding of customer needs, and marketing strategies to reach them where they are, when they want to hear from us.You join us at a transformative time in our marketing strategy, as we work to adopt the best practices of digital consumer and information companies, taking a data-driven analytical approach and maximing targeted, creative use of marketing channels and tools. Working closely with the senior marketing team, you will also play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our new strategy.
You will champion a data-driven approach to marketing, using analytics to optimise and measure efficacy against business goals and targets. You will set marketing KPIs and enable reporting; prioritise and coordinate or support marketing trials and pilots; assess and communicate actionable findings with a view to supporting the marketing team to achieve its ambitious goals. You will use analysis to optimise workflow and efficacy of tactics through a data-driven approach. Through your ability to influence and provide insight, you will become the go-to person for marketing-related metrics and performance.
Responsibilities
• Mapping and mastering internal and external data sources (analyse, manipulate, integrate, cleanse and validate)
• Designing trials and pilots together with marketing colleagues (setting goals, hypotheses, KPIs, structure, and timeframe) and conducting analysis with a view to assessing both statistical and business significance
• Mapping customer journeys including conversion and attribution indicators and metrics, and carrying out market segmentation analysis
• Communicating findings in an effective business way, supporting the marketing team to tell compelling stories and make business cases
• Setting dashboards and reports that facilitate the assessment of marketing performance by product, channel, and portfolio
• Contributing to market analysis in collaboration with the Strategy & Market Intelligence team
• Supporting innovative marketing campaigns through data extraction, segmentation, and analysis
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on marketing relevant tools (Google Analytics, KRUX, SAP, etc.) and other marketing relevant teams (Marketing services, Knowledge graph).
Experience, skills, and qualifications
Essential
• Having worked in marketing teams with a focus on digital marketing
• Having driven marketing decisions based on quantitative and other analysis
• Possessing good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, esp. Excel and Powerpoint
• Having deep understanding of marketing and digital marketing and good understanding of marketing analytics
Desirable
• Having worked in Publishing or other Media organisations
• Possessing knowledge of SQL, data visualisation software, and statistical analysis software
