Overview and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for business planning and development of location based and themed entertainment projects including world class theme parks, hotels, resorts and residences, restaurants, retail, dining and entertainment venues, and licensed stage plays.
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
General
• Oversee and manage the completion of ongoing projects and partner relationships as well as the development of new projects and licensees.
• Responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Parks and Resorts group including supervision of internal staff and external consultants and contractors.
• Partner with the senior management team on strategic and financial planning and execution.
• Support the initiatives of senior management and provide strategic and tactical thinking to the department particularly as it relates to the development and integration of new technology into location based entertainment.
• Oversee all aspects of project related work including project management, licensor approvals, business development and creative and design.
• Develop and optimize the company’s intellectual property portfolio as it relates to location based entertainment.
• Initiate, direct and create reports, budgets, schedules and other materials as necessary to support the senior executive team.
• Collaborate with finance and legal as required.
• Extensive domestic and international travel.
• Any other duties as assigned.
Project Management
• Manage all aspects of ongoing location based entertainment projects (planning, budgeting, scheduling, estimating, design, construction, fabrication, delivery, and commissioning).
• Management of licensing partnerships including project updates and reporting, enforcement of contractual provisions and economic terms.
• Manage design and construction approvals with development partners.
• Supervise development teams consisting of architects, engineers, schedulers, technical personnel and project managers.
• Responsible for relationships with and performance of subcontractors providing services to the division.
Business Development
• Develop and execute a worldwide strategic plan for themed entertainment licensing by territory in all the different categories of themed entertainment.
• Negotiate licenses for theme parks, attractions, hotels and resorts, restaurants, RDE venues and stage plays working closely with senior management to maximize deal terms and financial results.
• Create and present proposals, presentations and other materials for development of new licensing partners.
• Conduct research and due diligence reviews of potential business partners and projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners and other stake holders.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging categories and markets.
Creative and Design
• Establish and maintain well-seasoned, multi-disciplinary staffs for each new project including both internal and external resources.
• Responsible for creative direction, development and execution for all worldwide theme parks, attractions, hospitality, RDE venues and stage plays.
• Approve all park and live event designs, attractions, advertising and marketing material, merchandise, sponsorship and promotions and live shows associated with Paramount brands to uphold the highest standards of execution.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 10 years relevant work experience
Additional Qualifications
• Senior level management and business experience with world class themed entertainment projects
• Senior level experience in all aspects of themed entertainment development, design and planning
• Demonstrated history of senior level team leadership
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Contemporary understanding of multimedia, technology, film and video production
• Detailed understanding of design, architectural, production and operation disciplines
• Senior level skills for sequencing and scheduling complex projects and programs
• Experienced contract negotiation skills
• Senior level management skills for complex and diverse project teams
