Data plays a central role at CBS Interactive. Our Business Intelligence team is a crucial part of driving business, product, and marketing decisions by providing rich data, strategic insights and analytical products. We are expanding our team and are looking for a Senior Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced, and collaborative environment, and who is energized by using data to optimize and grow the world’s #1 broadcast network online (CBS.com and CBS All Access). We are looking for an exceptional addition to our Business Intelligence team supporting our distribution and marketing group in New York.
The perfect fit for this role will be able to develop data-driven analysis for key marketing initiatives while covering the whole process of data mining, deep dive analysis, recommendation development and presentation to internal audiences. We are looking for a data-curious, passionate and a good communicator, who is smart, flexible and produces exceptionally high quality work. The ideal candidate has a track record of marketing analytics covering attribution modeling, cohort and churn analysis, development of retention curves and life-cycle reports, evaluation of conversion rates and tracking of customer acquisition initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Formulate and perform in-depth statistical methodologies, quantitative analyses, data mining, mathematical modeling, experimentation (A/B and multivariate tests), optimization and predictive analytics to help deepen understanding of our marketing initiatives across all channels and business models
Leverage that data to grow marketing ROI, assess acquisition and campaign effectiveness, develop customized marketing and advertising experiences, increase customer retention and calculate customer lifetime value
Effectively communicate and ‘translate’ quantitative findings into actionable recommendations for senior executives and marketing team members
Build, improve, and maintain reports, dashboards, and tracking metrics to monitor the performance of our initiatives
Manage development of data resources, gather requirements, organize sources, and support campaign launches
Contribute to the enhancement of the overall Business Intelligence team by participating in group events, developing and sharing knowledge, and helping to cultivate a continuous learning and supportive esprit-de-corps
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Math, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent quantitative field
3+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role, preferably for an online entertainment media property, digital marketing organization or attribution vendor
Proficient in advanced SQL coding across various databases and experienced in querying large, complex, and raw data sets in Teradata, Hadoop (or similar environments)
Proficient with analytical tools supporting data analysis, reporting, and visualization (R, Adobe, Tableau, Excel)
Expert users of web analytics (Adobe, Google Analytics) and 3rd party syndicated audience measurement services (comScore, Nielsen)
A scripting language, e.g. Python, Java a plus
Experience in web/video analytics and subscription services is a plus
Strong detail-orientation with a penchant for data accuracy
Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
Exemplary relationship builder who is consultative in nature and able to quickly form partnerships with colleagues and customers
Must successfully pass a background check
