Business Analyst / Product Owner

This role reports to a Product Owner Manager who is responsible for managing the Planning function for new projects, and aligning the overall business objectives across a wide project portfolio in our large-scale Enterprise IT environment.
This role is within Enterprise Applications, which plans and builds the internal and external IT systems necessary to support and grow Autodesk's business. A key responsibility is the up-front planning or "Discovery" phase of projects, assisting business stakeholders in clarifying objectives and requirements, mapping them to strategic business directions, and communicating them to necessary teams for technical solutioning.

Responsibilities:
Through a combination of strong business understanding, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and facilitation skills, this person will:
• Lead the discovery and conceptual design work required to clarify business drivers and translate business needs into solutions and features
• Drive alignment across stakeholders including business owners, senior Business sponsors, technical architects, and developers (not as a project manager but as a leader and vision holder)
• Facilitate meetings with business stakeholders
• Direct workflow analysis in support of requirements identification
• Elicit, capture, analyze and document business requirements, epics and user stories
• Provide consultancy and advice on functionality, applicability, and usability of technology solutions to project requirements
• Balance business requirements with technical feasibility, working with Solution Architects who define technical solutions
• Identify project inter-dependencies
• Prioritize and drive sound business decisions
• Plan and direct the work of staff or vendors to conduct proof of concept efforts
• Effectively deliver presentations to key customers/stakeholders and senior management.
• Research and analyze industry trends and benchmarking information as they apply to the Autodesk business model and domain area needs
Requirements & Skills:
• Experience in Sales, Sales Operations, Commissions, Business Intelligence, Marketing, or Support IT project areas will be a big plus.
• Agile software methodology experience also strongly recommended, and certification in Scrum Product Owner or related training would be a strong advantage.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with Business Management (or related field) or equivalent work experience required. Master's degree preferred.
• 8-10 years of IT experience in a major Enterprise environment, including at least 4 years of Business Analyst or comparable experience, supporting medium to large-size projects
• Explicit business knowledge in software/High tech industry, emerging technologies focusing on cloud products, SaaS platforms, or Enterprise Applications
• Salesforce.com, SAP, Siebel, Qlikview, Anaplan, Commissions or Big Data system experience all a plus
• Training or certification in Agile methodology, Scrum, Lean, or Kanban a plus. Certified Scrum professionals preferred.
