The Autodesk Business Models & Systems User Experience Design team is looking for someone who is passionate about human-centered design and has a proven track record defining the user experience across a family of web-based products and services, including both in-product and desktop touch points. The successful candidate will be experienced in end-to-end interaction design with a demonstrated ability to apply strategic thinking and business goals to all design work, and possess a keen understanding of interaction design patterns and trends.

The Role
You will partner with business owners, engineers, and other user experience designers not just within our group but also across the larger organization to create outstanding experiences that support new and ongoing business models as we introduce changes in how we do business with our customers.
Your Responsibilities
• Support and/or lead experience design strategy by evaluating the current competitive landscape; analyzing future trends in related fields; and identifying the intersection of business needs, user needs, and technical opportunities.
• Construct compelling artifacts outlining present conditions and proposed solutions to gain strategic alignment and encourage innovation within and across the organization.
• Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in experience design and provide expert advice and guidance to others in the application of design best practices.
• Support and/or lead the continuous improvement of user experience tools, documentation, and processes, and contribute to the evolution of scalable experience design standards.
• Partner with development teams and business leaders to drive successful implementation of great experiences in our software and services.
• Participate in or lead design thinking exercises to break through organizational silos and collaboratively solve complex design challenges
• Lead the process of understanding user needs and workflows and guide teams to create experiences (new or improved) in our software and services.
• Design and evaluate alternative solutions to choose the best approach.
• Visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity. Meet and collaborate with users and development partners to validate designs and make iterative improvements.
• Compose documentation using text, diagrams, illustrations, and/or prototypes to support the implementation of design proposals. Documentation can range from high-level wireframes or mock-ups with call-outs to conceptual presentations to highly technical documents and diagrams.
• Deliver design documentation for use by a wide range of audiences including Software Development, Quality Assurance/Test Development, Learning Content Development, and Sales and Marketing. Review solution implementation, test plans and documentation to ensure accuracy of desired application results.
• Promote and support the principles of user-centered design and strive toward cohesive solutions across functional areas that are cohesive, fluid, familiar, and contextual

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required in Design or other relevant field
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with usability research methods
• Ability to handle multiple design projects concurrently
• Solid understanding of web design and development process, including the technologies used to deliver web experiences
• Experience using design and prototyping tools (Axure, Sketch, OmniGraffle, Balsamiq, Adobe Suite, etc.)
